Richard Day - Co-founder and Managing Partner
Prior to being one of the founding partners of Vittoriosa Capital, Richard Day was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse, Credit Trading within the Global Proprietary Trading Group. He was the principal trader, trading all levels of the capital structure (loan, high yield, investment grade, equity) on single name credits in cash and derivative instruments. As such, he was responsible for identifying and trading technical price disparities and relative value positions across global credit markets.
Prior to this, Richard was Head of the Convertible Bond Arbitrage and Asset Swap business at Credit Suisse based in New York. He was responsible for building one of the most consistently profitable businesses within his division and establishing the convertible bond asset swap market in Europe, the U.S. and Asia.
Richard started his career at Salomon Brothers International Limited, London as a graduate hire in the Operations Department in 1988. In less than 2 years he was asked to move to the Fixed Income Trading Desk. Richard was subsequently hired by Credit Suisse Financial Products (CSFP), London in 1992. At CSFP Richard was initially responsible for marketing fixed income derivatives to UK institutions but subsequently went on to trade Commodity Derivatives and then Structured Products before moving into the Convertible Bond Arbitrage Group in 1996.
Richard completed his BA Hons. in Business Administration from Kingston University (1988).
